Tourist sites

Welcome to the Charente, a region rich in history, heritage and culture to discover all year round. Between Ruffec, Confolens, Angoulême, Cognac, the south of the Charente and the Tardoire valley, there's no shortage of tourist attractions to satisfy your every whim.

Are you a nature lover? Visit the parks and gardens of the Charente, from the folie de Jar'Imagine to the Gallo-Roman representation of the ancient garden. The natural sites and parks are also a feast for the eyes, from the Lac de Guizangeard to the blue lakes of Touverac.

History buffs will be delighted to discover the châteaux of the Charente, such as Château de La Rochefoucauld or Château de la Mercerie, before admiring the many megalithic sites scattered around the eastern Charente.

Museums, churches and abbeys - the Charente has plenty of surprises in store for you.
